What is a NN1 visa? NN1 visa is issued to people who are managers of foreign representative offices or projects of international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam.

The duration of Vietnam NN1 visa
The duration of Vietnam NN1 visa is issued for no more than 12 months. Foreigners who are issued NN1 visa can apply for the Temporary Residence Card having the same symbol and duration (3 years). From there, foreigners are able to work longer, and easier to exit/enter Vietnam.
Conditions to apply for the NN1 visa (for Managers of foreign representative offices)
NN1 visa procedures for the managers of foreign representative offices are as follows:
Step 1: Foreigners carry out procedures to invite/ guarantee through agencies or organizations
Foreigners must invite or guarantee through agencies, organizations, or individuals to carry out procedures at the immigration management agency. The inviting entity and residence of foreigners in Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as Law) shall directly apply to the Immigration Administration Department (prescribed in Clause 1 Article 16 Law 2014 and Article 3 Circular 31/2015/TT-BCA).
Step 2: The foreign representative offices in Vietnam must apply for Approval Entry Letter
Application for an Approval Entry Letter for foreigners includes:
- Business license or decision of the competent authority on the establishment of the organization (copy);
- The document introducing the seal and signature of the authorized person of the organization - Form NA16 (issued together with Circular 04/2015/TT-BCA);
- Application form for issuance of entry official letter to foreigners - Form NA2;
- Valid passport;
- Papers proving the investment in Vietnam according to the provisions of the Law on Investment (according to Clause 4, Article 10 of Law No. 2014).
The processing time of the Approval Entry Letter will be within 5 working days from the date of receiving all the documents.
Step 3: Foreigners prepare documents for Vietnam visa

Application for NN1 visa includes:
- Original passport is valid.
