Vietnam NG2 visa is considered for granting to:
- Guest member of the Standing Committee of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice President of the State, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chief of Staff the Supreme People's Court, the Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Auditor General;
- Members of the guest delegation at the same level of the Minister and equivalent, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Secretary of the City Party Committee, the President of the People's Council, the President of the People's Committee of the province or city directly under the Central Government.
Conditions to get the NG2 visa
- Have a passport or valid international travel document.
- Have a letter of invitation/guarantee from a government organization.
- Not being banned to enter the country.
For foreigners in the above cases, when meeting the conditions, they will be considered for a NG2 visa with a duration of up to 12 months.
*Note: NG2 Visa is not eligible for Temporary Residence Card. Therefore, to stay longer in Vietnam, foreigners need to carry out the procedures for applying for a new/renewed visa following regulations.

Procedures for applying for NG2 visa
Foreigners who are eligible for NG2 visas through inviting or guaranteeing agencies or organizations shall submit visa application at a competent agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Different from other visa categories such as: DL, DH, LV1, LV2, TT, ... will send documents to the Immigration Department).
Agencies or organizations that invite or guarantee foreigners should notify the competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then the competent authority will direct the overseas Vietnamese visa authority to issue visas, and at the same time notify the immigration authority.
Inviting and guaranteeing agencies prepare documents such as:
- Copy of Foreigner's Passport;
- Application form for approval entry letter - NA2 Form;
- Visa type and time of entry;
- Legal documents of the inviting or guarantor party;
- Documents proving that the guest is a member of the guest delegation of the Standing Committee, the Vice President of the State, the Vice President of the National Assembly, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee, the Chief Justice, the Director of the Institute the State Auditor General, the State Auditor General; members of the guest delegation at the same level of the Minister and equivalent, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Secretary of the Party Committee, the President of the People's Council, the President of the Provincial People's Committee;
- And other required documents.
After receiving the reply from the competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agency or organization will notify the foreigner to carry out the procedures at the competent authority to issue visas for Vietnam abroad.
Foreigners need to prepare:
- Original passport;
- 02 photo cards taken within 6 months;
- Vietnam visa application form - NA1 Form;
- Copy of Approval Entry Letter - for diplomatic purposes;
- And other required documents.

The processing time of NG2 visa
From the date of receipt of all required documents, within 1 working day, the authorized agency of Vietnam abroad will issue a visa. In some special cases, the NG2 visa processing time will be longer than expected.
