Health certificate is an indispensable document for applying a new work permit or re-granting work permit for foreigners who want to work in Vietnam. Foreigners who want to apply for a work permit in Vietnam must obtain a health certificate with the doctor’s conclusion stating that they are fit to work. According to the Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT, foreigners must take medical examination at the qualified health facilities.
If you apply for a health certificate at such unqualified hospitals as prescribed by the regulations, it shall be considered invalid. The following is a list of hospitals and clinics eligible for conducting medical examination for foreigners applying work permits.

The legal basis stipulating the health facilities eligible for conductingmedical examination with foreign elements
Legal documents guiding medical examination and treatment, introducing the facilities eligible for conducting medical examination and treatment for foreigners in Vietnam:
–Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT guiding medical examination promulgated by the Minister of Health on May 06, 2013.
– Official Letter No. 1171/KCB-PHCN&GD dated October 28, 2014 providing a list of facilities eligible for conducting medical examination for foreigners working in Vietnam under the Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT promulgated by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management.
– Official Letter No. 143/KCB-PHCN&GD dated February 05, 2015 updating and supplementing the list of facilities eligible for conducting medical examination for foreigners working in Vietnam, promulgated by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management under the Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT.
– Official Letter No. 1024 KCB-PHCN&GD dated August 31, 2015 promulgated by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health.
