Currently, there are many foreigners or Vietnamese wishing to be tested and granted SARS-CoV-2 negative certificate for the purpose of leaving to work and study abroad. So where can they take the Covid-19 tests? How are the Covid test procedures?

86 Covid-19 testing facilities and hospitals nationwide

According to the latest updated information from the Ministry of Health on November 13, 2020, there are currently 86 units that are allowed to test for COVID, including 18 Covid testing points in Hanoi, 4 Covid testing points in Danang, and 22 Covid testing points in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the North, there are 37 facilities and hospitals which are allowed to perform the Covid-19 tests.

How are the Covid test procedures?

The procedures for taking samples for Covid-19 testing should be carried out if testing at many medical facilities, which are recommended by the Ministry of Health:

Step 1: After the health staff performs the protection and disinfection steps, you will be taken the sample, including:

Taking 3 - 5 ml of blood into the EDTA anticoagulant tube.

Respiratory fluid: taking the sample of the upper and lower respiratory tract fluid with the sampling swab

Upper respiratory tract fluid: Pharyngeal fluid, pharyngeal fluid, throat washing fluid.

Lower respiratory tract fluid: Sputum, alveolar fluid, endotracheal fluid, pleural fluid, pulmonary, bronchial, alveolar organization.

Step 2: Receiving results.
